Remcon Earns AISC Certification
OMAHA, NE-
Remcon, Inc., a regional steel and precast erection company headquartered in Omaha, Neb., recently earned AISC Certification from the American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC). Remcon is licensed to operate in Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota, Kansas, Missouri, Iowa, Indiana, Oklahoma, Texas and Colorado.
AISC Certification sets the quality standard for the steel industry and is the most recognized national quality certification program for the structural steel industry. Companies that are AISC Certified have been through a rigorous initial evaluation and are subject to annual reviews.
Remcon decided to formalize programs and gain AISC certification because of an increasing demand for quality systems and safety programs, according to Shelly Jochim, director of operations and business development. "Certification is imperative to our overall success and ensures that we maintain a continuous improvement program," she said.
"We are always researching safer and more productive ways to accomplish our goals while producing a quality product. Certification demonstrates Remcon's management team and workforce are dedicated to providing top quality products," she added.
AISC auditors conduct on-site visits, interviews and observe the practices and approaches of everyone from the field to the office to determine whether a company is fulfilling its commitment to safety, quality, the workforce and the client before granting certification.
